completely different:

"The Thames Estuary Army Forts were constructed in 1942 to a design by Guy Maunsell, following the successful construction and deployment of the Naval Sea Forts. Their purpose was to provide anti-aircraft fire within the Thames Estuary area. Each fort consisted of a group of seven towers with a walkway connecting them all to the central control tower."

wow, these look like they're straight out of myst, or some post-apocalyptic scifi flick.

Amazing, they even have the unextended walkways connecting the different towers. They should repurpose this site as an executive training retreat where people have to wade through esoteric drawings and cryptic poems to navigate and restart the complex.

Looks like an excellent place to live. Of course, as with the castle on the island off Wales, its probably prohibitively difficult in reality.
