i've been uninspired for a while now, which is why there are few photos lately. partly that's because i am not going out much; it's been too damn hot. i get more sensitive to heat each year, it seems. i've been sitting behind my computer and watching tv shows: leverage, 30 seconds, NCIS los angeles,better off ted, regenesis, dexter, and now i am in the 3rd season of six feet under.

the only one of those that was fairly unmitigated crap is NCIS los angeles, which has nothing good in common with NCIS. dexter is fabulous, and i'm looking forward to the 5th season. i've grabbed the first book on which the show is based, darkly dreaming dexter by jeff lindsay.

six feet under is also quite good, though right now it depresses me just how very bad everyone is at relationships. it's kinda impressive how many shows there are right now about odd, quirky, and outright weird people and circumstances. weird is the new black, i guess. i am all in favour.

i'm also doing a lot of knitting/crochet -- watching tv is good for that. i'm not feeling particularly creative in the sense of creating original things, but more in the "just making stuff" realm. i've finished a tee with indigo rope-dyed yarn (just needs washing), and a do-rag in crochet lace (needs dyeing).

I loved Better Off Ted, I like NCIS (watching it right now) but agree with you re: NCIS LA. :P I've watched Dexter but missed some episodes and we're a bit behind here in NZ. I used to watch Six Feet Under but it's been years.

Good luck with your yarn crafts! Sometimes you just need to rest the creativity muscles and that sounds like a good way to do it.

sorry; i have no idea about the rose -- it was growing in the parking lot of a new restaurant we went to.

hey, is there some specific NZ tv that you would recommend? there is a new tracker with commonwealth shows which has me pretty excited.

i've got to get good enough at spinning to watch shows while doing it; that would be perfect. but at this point i still have to watch the fibre, or the yarn becomes really uneven.

Hmmm, show-wise do you want current or previous shows? What kind of stuff do you like to watch?? There's a show I really enjoyed called Makatu. It's a series of supernatural "Twilight Zone"ish thrillers based on Maori culture. It was on a few years ago. There was also an NZ version of Ghost Hunt on a few years ago that was interesting, much better than the UK version I think.

Ummmm.....I never got into it but there's Outrageous Fortune, supposed to be much better than the US version. It's a kind of serial drama about a family.

And do you guys get Legend of the Seeker there? It was filmed in NZ. A friend has loaned me the DVD with the series but I haven't had time to watch it yet.

Oh, and one that's been on for a couple of seasons (and I think they're making another) is Sensing Murder. It takes unsolved crimes, puts a couple of psychics on and sees if they can come up with new info.

I'll try to think of soe more, let me know what kinds of things you like.
