cute but dumb

i have a cat with goldfish brains(not the one in the icon, this one.
- shadow was trapped in the attic.
- she mewled piteously.
- we took a ladder out to her.
- she wouldn't go, too steep.
- we wrapped towels around the rungs for better traction.
- she went on first run, not good enough.
- we took the ladder inside where there is attic access and less steepness.
- she wouldn't come down.
- i went up to pick her up. she didn't like that.
- we lured her with cat food treat at bottom.
- no good.
- finally we left to give her time to consider and maybe come down on her own (she used to do that all the time).

a few minutes later:
she barrelled down the outside (where the ladder had been before), sliding down the wall. then she went inside to eat the treat.

*headdesk*.

If it makes you feel any better, Miles-cat is shut in the garage right now because he didn't want to be outside (it's windy), and he didn't want to come inside (there are children). So he made it into the garage and then would not go through either door.

I'll have to go haul him out at some point soon, before he craps in there (again).

Awww what a silly cat ( but sooo cute!! )! :))
We have 5 cats of our own, and then 2 neighbourhood kitties who like to spend their time inside our house/garden better then their own home (one of them even sleeps with us on the bed sometimes!) so I know all to well how cats "logics" can be.. stupid-stupid-stupid /giggles

I had a cat that would leap into my arms, when it was trapped in a precarious place. He was a good kitty.

Having owned both dogs & cats, sometimes I question the 'cats are smarter' because sometimes they're really not.
