these hang in front of the kitchen window. the most impressive ones hang on the woodshed -- they're as long as i am tall.

Gorgeous! We've only had tiny, tiny icicles. I can't decide whether this means we've got good insulation, or poor heat.

That is impressive, and gorgeous. And reminds me of my recent conversations with [livejournal.com profile] papersky about how large numbers of Christmas cards and decorations are trying to imitate light on and through ice and snow.

do they? that's interesting. makes sense too; light is such an important feature in winter. and of course the dual metaphor -- light in winter, and light in your life through jesus. i've never looked at cards with that in mind.

Ooh, very cool. We saw some great little icicles hanging from artificial swag on a storefront on Saturday, so evenly spaced and sized that they looked fake. We're growing a few nice ones here at the house, too, though not as impressive as your woodshed sounds.

Pretty. Especially with the dark background. We've got lots here, but none so well-lit.

On a house down the hill, there are icicles on a roof where the snowpack has since slid down a foot or so and curled under, so that there are dozens of wicked-sharp frozen spears pointing at the wall...
