i read two blogs of people to whom i am regularly moved to comment, on blogger. but blogger makes this extremely annoying, and so i comment much less than i otherwise would. which sucks because it inhibits communication.

why is it annoying? because first i have to decipher and type in a captcha, and in addition radio-click for openID, and then drop-down select LJ, and then type in my LJ user name. this is too damn much effort for a short comment.

does anyone know of a way to shortcut that? i am too annoyed to research it myself.

I have this same problem with all my friends on Blogger. It's a huge time sink.

The blog owner sets those requirements. My blogger blog doesn't have them, because I just moderate all the comments instead.

I'm in the same situation (except that I log in using my Gmail account, rather than my LJ account). To post a comment: type comment. type captcha. type captcha again because the first one expired. question whether it was worth the effort. wish I believed in Hell so that I could gloat at the eternal punishment of the spammers who make the stupid rigamarole necessary.

No help. Just much, much sympathy.

On the other hand, something that slows down my "must comment on .... everything" urges isn't always a bad thing :-).

Create yet another ID? It's possible that if you're logged in to blogger the captcha and so forth will go away. (Of course, you could contract with the nice organized criminals who have captcha solvers and at least remove that step...)

Nope, it doesn't work that way. Even logged in to blogger you get the captchas. And they still expire by the time you finish typing your comment.

I've turned off the captcha, I think, and turned on moderation.

If my gmail account fills up with spam, I'll likely put the captcha back, but it's just possible that it shan't, and I won't.

oh, thanks -- really, i don't blame any blog owner for not wanting to get spam. i blame the spammers for all this annoying crap.

though blogger could be a little more elegant about it.
