thank you, mark felt. you were not disloyal, you did good. and you, g. gordon liddy, you're not worthy to eat his shorts.
compare and contrast with gurmant grewal and his infamous tapes. you're slime, mr. grewal. gee, let's see -- a few weeks ago you got tagged for an RCMP/ethics commission investigation about offering to help immigrants get into canada for money. then you approach the liberals before the important vote and offer to cross the floor, and for what price? along with a cabinet post you'd like the immigration minister to apologise for the remarks about your possible transgressions (which he already has, so we know what this is code for). and when that ploy to get the libs to put the kibosh on the investigation doesn't work, you try and smear them for talking to you? even your go-between says that it was your idea to approach them, and ever so conveniently, we have heard no tapes about your first conversations. i'd bet on you lying about it. now you're releasing these tapes in selected dribs and drabs to keep the issue alive. tapes whose legality is questionable, and i wouldn't be surprised if you had edited them to boot. you should have handed the lot over to the RCMP immediately if your intentions were at all honourable! there is no need for the conservative party to make the punjabi translation; the RCMP can do that, which will have to happen anyway -- i damn well don't want to trust you to provide the only translation.
yuck, yuck, yuck. conservative slime all over my daily news, and must you (and dosanjh) be from my province to boot? please slink away into obscurity. pay attention to your deputy party leader; he doesn't seem impressed with you. though i'll watch the RCMP investigation of your alleged immigration diddling with great interest, believe you me.
that said, step aside, mr murphy. you were suckered into saying things to a potential defector that violate the spirit of the law. you're dirty, even if you never crossed that all-too-fine line in your own mind. i don't want that line to be fine, i want it to be strong and bold. i don't want to hear "We also understand that those people who take risks ought to be rewarded for the risks they take" accompanied by a whole lot of weaseling in re how one goes about making deals without saying the actual words, i want to hear "i hope you understand that it would be not only illegal, but also unethical for us to make offers". and mr dosanjh? same goes for you.

on 2005-06-08 04:08 (UTC)and gee, conservatives have now admitted that pieces of tape have gone missing, though allegedly this is due to a "transfer error", not judicious editing. uh huh. can i call 'em, or what; those tapes virtually screamed "not all that was said is recorded here".
little weasely bastard, that grewal.
