dear amtrak
Apr. 29th, 2005 22:00you lost. we have the lioness now, cozily ensconced in her sleeper compartment on via rail's "canadian", which left on time (imagine that! i know, it's hard for you; you held on to her for an extra hour and a half).
it was great fun to finally meet. we had beverages, and yakked about all sorts of things, and i admired the embroidery muchly, and it inspired creative ideas of what i could do with mementoes of my own. i would have loved to ride along for a bit and be crafty together, but the canadian doesn't stop in many places, and taxes are due tomorrow. i can highly recommend a creative pit stop with the lioness; it gets those ideas sparking.
nice scarf, pat! love the yarns. even though it meant i had to hustle to find another appropriate thing of giftness, since i was working on one for her, *heh* -- but this way i get to keep that one, and i found another beautiful source of local artistry! everybody wins.
maybe we need to do a skinny scarf exchange, *grin*.
and now i am beat. two ferry rides letting the wind blow through me, soaking in BC clear sky beauty, having a good yak with an old net.pal, and i am considerably more cheerful than i was yesterday, but also much more tired. apologies to the *poing* for lameness of neglect. night-night!
