on 2005-04-21 03:19 (UTC)Many years ago, a much younger Father Ratzinger was an enthusiastic supporter of the reforms of Vatican II. Somewhere along the way things changed too quickly for him, and he became the hardliner we know him as now. It is my sincere hope that as Pope he will find again the enthusiasm and trust in his fellow Catholics that he exhibited in the 60's.
