who have come together in support of same-sex marriage.
"No mosque, church, gurdwara, temple, or synagogue will ever have to conduct a same-sex marriage if they do not wish to," says Fatah. "But freedom of religion cannot come at the cost of limiting the rights of other groups in society."

on 2005-04-12 06:41 (UTC)My MP is a conservative who keeps trying to inflict his religious values on those in his constituancy. I'm proud of most Canadians, but some of them.. I can only wonder what century they live in.
"Equal but seperate" didn't exist in this country when it came to race, we wouldn't tolerate it.. but now we're expected to tolerate it for sexual preference? Puh-lease.
I admire the crap out of the Canadian Anglican church. They have female priests, will perform gay marriages (even if it won't be recognized by the province) and they're very much in the 21st century.
Canada, where we welcome all open-minded people with open arms.
