clearly we could not live without such fully immersive reportage of disaster porn. thanks for setting such a great example for other idiots. really, what is it with reporters throwing themselves unnecessarily into danger in these circumstances? like emergency services don't have enough to do? et tu, anderson cooper?

i am really glad i no longer live at the shore in NJ. hope everyone i know in the path of this monster of a storm is safe.

He ran a show during the storm. No audience, but guests were still invited and since he managed to produce a show, I'm assuming more than that assistant guy was there. Denzel showed up in a yellow rain slicker, looking wet and vaguely miserable. Pauly Perette was scheduled but declined to come, since there was a frickin' hurricane taking place.

Because what I really want to do in case of a storm the size of Europe -- have you seen the map? -- is go to work. That sounds all kinds of smart.

In an increasingly competitive jobs market for "journalists" of all stripes, the one's who demonstrate the greatest personal "heroism" for the good video, get to keep their jobs.

It was jut a little amusing to see the growing annoyance of the reporter in lower manhattan who started realizing that there was no pleasant curling up in a warm, well-lit hotel room with a gourmet meal to follow the day of standing around in the rain.

oh! i hadn't even thought of that, but yeah, of course. an event like this is bound to confound one's usual expectations. i hope he brought a change of clothes. the news truck had a generator, so he might have been warm, at least.
