piranhaproductive day! managed to actually get garbage and recycling to the curb in time. then onto whacking the shit out of more blackberries -- the entire backyard is now free of them (which is a first since we moved here); only the bit between the fence and the hedge is still left. well, maybe i'll do the ones that belong to the landlords as well, being as they don't really care about them. i'll also need to stilldig up the major root stocks, since otherwise much of this will be for naught later this year -- but the ground is still too frozen, since we've had unseasonably cold nights along with the also unseasonably bright and dry days.
then i drove a checque for the latest invoice down to P's, took some pics of the boat in progress, admired the beautiful steel tanks P scored for fresh- and wastewater, and shot the breeze some, including bitching about BC politics (not so much bitching really, since the economy has been recovering and the liberal government has even been paying down on the debt). P had not heard the news yet that weyerhaeuser is selling its coastal group to brascan, which is on the face of it a good thing.
after that i cashed in several bags of returnables. and finally shopped for groceries at safeway (lots of savings with those loyalty cards lately, both at safeway and at save-on-food -- neither of whom has my real name and address, being as i am a data privacy fetishist :). now i have enough to hold me over until the paramour returns, the day before which i'll hopefully manage to do shopping to get all the stuff zie's fond of.
i have fresh french bread (it's not really very french, but it is fresh, and that'll do), and now i'll broil a piece of alberta cow for dinner, which i'll chomp on while watching joan of arcadia. and then i'll continue knitting the left front for the loose vest; am done with the right front.
it's not that i don't have any deep thoughts, mind. *chuckle*. but i seem to pour more of them into comments in other people's journals than writing them here. i'll need to do something about that.
