magnificent magnolia

i went to butchart gardens and all i got was 650 photos.
love my camera. it has enough battery time to actually shoot that number and still have some left.
i haven't even sorted through them all. am working on a work flow that lets me upload a whole chunk for people to look at when i do major shoots that actually come up with quite a few worthwhile ones.
did two caches as well, but am too tired to log them now. the finger is healing nicely, and i can use my hand again without hurting it all the time.

on 2010-04-02 12:03 (UTC)best investment i made was to get adobe lightroom and a keyword dictionary. that means everything is getting well-categorized, and over time i can weed the categories with a sort of stepwise refinement. and to pick the daily i go through the day's set and flag the ones i like, which then makes picking one easier. sometimes i pick one according to whatever lyrics or random quote run through my mind.
magnolias, btw, suck. they often have flaws which i don't see until i sort through the images. :)

I have a similar camera to yours (same brand, model minus several years). I'm glad to hear the battery life didn't change. I bought mine because of the gyroscopic stabilization.
Even though knitting blogs are all about the pictures; I can barely stand the sheer amount of effort it takes to shoot, decant, review, tag, upload, and link the pictures.

on 2010-04-02 22:28 (UTC)yeah, the image stabilization is also very good; i am amazed how well i can shoot at the end of its tele range and in low-light conditions.
i am terribly lax about shooting my craft projects. :/

on 2010-04-02 22:42 (UTC)i didn't see any artichokes at all, nevermind in bloom. wouldn't it be too early for that?

on 2010-04-02 22:43 (UTC)I have no idea! I just remember seeing an artichoke there when I was a kid and thinking it was SO AWESOME. No idea what time of year or if they still have them.
