yeah, that's been my intent, but i usually end up not having enough spoons for real reviews, so i just write a + or - one on twitter. i'm thinking of how to change that, write something with a bit more meat.

ok, i managed to do it with the book i read yesterday, so maybe if i do it right afterwards, and don't demand a lot of literary insight from myself, then i can handle it.

You could fix up twitter to re-post them automatically to your DW, couldn't you? Then it wouldn't be any extra work after that.

Oh... off to look :) But yes, who needs great literary insight? A plain 'great story but hated the hero' or 'rubbish' is pretty much all anyone needs :)

i'm doing that already, or at least, i am reposting all my daily tweets here (check the posts titled "today's twitterings"), and they can be found quickly by searching for "read".

i don't really want to pull the "reviews" out separately because 140 characters is never fair to a book. they're just reactions, and often visceral, not thoughtful.

Ah, sorry, I managed to miss those. But there's a lot to be said for visceral reactions, and they're often very interesting :)

yeah, maybe so. but my visceral reactions are much affected by my general state of well-being, and tend towards the grouchy. and i don't censor them much, because grumping is to some degree a release. so those reactions are much more about me than about the book -- the book might be a (relatively) innocent victim that came along at the wrong time.

i want to be honest, but i also don't want to hurt people's feelings just because i wanted to break something when i wrote scathing words, ya know? especially since i get reminded now and then (like in the alders review) that authors ego-grep, *wry grin*.
