bright colours are getting very rare now. we're under a deluge, and everything is dubdued. i rather like it, except that i don't really like to be outside for long when it is pouring.

the crud will not completely leave; it's moving back into my sinuses. it just seems intent on staying the standard 14 days, even if it's just hanging on by a thin thread of phlegm.

It's an interesting line of reasoning. I'd suggest that she's taking defiant ownership of a pejorative label that was applied against her by her critics (in this case, an unnamed McCain staffer, if I remember my history correctly) intended to marginalize her. I don't mind that so much (or, at least, I don't want to be part of the licensing board that decides which people are sufficiently marginalized to deserve to play the defiant label ownership gambit), but it does seem to highlight her irrational political belief that the crap that she dishes out is mission and the crap that is dished against her is persecution.

Perhaps she's thinking Han Solo, minus the drug smuggling. I'm particularly amused by the horticultural usages, which I didn't know about.
