serves you right
Jan. 21st, 2005 14:46i wasn't gonna write anything about the bush inauguration extravaganza, though i consider the spending excessive (and would consider it thusly if an elected democrat spent this amount, especially in a country that is at war). i generally find ostentatious displays of wealth in politics more a typically american thing than a partisan one, and after watching it for so long it's hard to get my ire up when rich politicos party.
but this bit is just too good to pass up. it's not directly about the inauguration, but about a FOX news anchor getting sidelined on the air by judy bachrach, whom they apparently expected to go on admiringly about elegant gowns and lavish dinners -- your basic creampuff "journalism" -- but who instead expressed her negative opinion of the spending. i'm gleeful with schadenfreude because FOX news is IMO the US equivalent of the former iraqi information minister. and they very obviously didn't do their research on judy bachrach, for whom a simple google search shows anything but creampuff pieces.
FAUX news indeed.
