happy fun productive piranha
Jan. 12th, 2005 20:32managed to solder my glasses yesterday, and better than i expected -- these frames are very thin, and i wasn't sure whether i'd get a good enough connection and still be able to fit the lens back in, but it worked out beautifully -- on the 5th try. but i no longer trust those frames now. i might get new glasses after all; i should really have a spare pair anyway.
i've been very productive today -- thorough cleaning of the living room, including behind and under things that usually don't move. the proximate cause for this unusual degree of cleanliness is that i wanted to move bacchus's cage in front of the door, so he can look outside, and the other cats get used to walking right next to him in and out the cat flap.
so i moved the filing boxes and the big box on which the cats usually sit, cleaned, and then moved the cage into some of that space. i am not sure whether i'll move the fileboxes in there again; depends on where else they could go. i also scrubbed the cage while bacchus sat outside in the snow, surveying his domain (this elastic leash thing is really useful; he gets a bit of freedom to walk where he wants, but not so much that he can jump any of the little ones. he's being pretty mellow anyway; i've been letting him out and sit with me in the evenings while i knit, and so far we've not had any altercations.
after all the vaccuming and dusting and moving things around, i sat down and knit up swatches for the latest yarn haul from elann. and i packed up the yarn that's to go to
nex0s for the BiG swap (knit up a swatch of that too from an extra ball, and i think it'll fit really nicely into a landscapey project).
and i am baking a sweet cardamom bread.
