*ack*. my glasses broke. the frame, not a lens, but it's in a spot that's a stress point (yeah, like *duh*), and it'll be hard to fix.

at least i found my old glasses immediately so i don't have to make like a pirate, but that prescription was worse than i thought at the time. i hope my eyes will acclimate themselves, so i can drive into town to get the frames fixed by a professional, or get new ones.

consequently there won't be much communication from me today; sorry to those of you waiting for email replies.

Last weekend I misplaced my glasses, and went to my emergency backup plan, which is some old prescription sunglasses. Then I went searching, and what I found was an even older regular pair, which I thought may have been left behind by a former housemate somewhere around 1999. But actually, it was my _own_ glasses from even earlier, maybe 1997, around the time I moved back to CU in the first place. But the prescription was pretty much exactly the same -- just that the frames were the big round Lennon glasses you can't get any more -- and I was able to use old-old pair C I found while wearing dark pair B to find actual new pair A.

Moral of the story: don't get nearsighted.
