I'm so very proud. And vindicated.

I'm on the phone with He Who Plagues - we've been monitoring the election together - and read him this post. He says,"Isn't Canadian speculation on US elections illegal?"

I wish dang Florida and North Carolina would post results. I need to go to bed.

*heh*.

i am watching on MSNBC, and they just said that they're not gonna call IN until all the vote is in, and probably not VA and NC either. FL i think will get called sooner.

Go to bed, and sleep soundly. According to 538, the probability that McCain covers the Electoral College after losing Ohio is 0.00000%.

Real-time updates at 10:24 EST say that Obama has a pretty safe lead in Florida and is razor-thin in NC and VA. Of course, it all comes down to which precincts haven't reported, but NPR reports that the Florida GOP is very somber.

You would not believe the turnout percentage in my bland New York precinct. You'd think we were Australians.

that's really awesome. the turnout everywhere makes me very happy; that's what democracy should be like.

I'm on the edge of my seat. Fivethirtyeight says it's safe to come out now, but I'm all a-twitter.

That is it. Still a lot of vote counting, but with Ohio going to Obama the election is his.

It was amazing how happy it made me to see traditionally republican stronghold states vote for Obama. Thinking about politics and being happy have been mutually exclusive for me for so long, it was like having a misaligned major joint reset after a long time or getting out of a car after an emergency drive through hours of blizzard in the mountains.
