sea holly / coyote thistle (eryngium planum -- i think). not native to BC, but naturalizes albeit not easily.

my front garden mostly has flowers in the colour ranges of yellow-orange and blue. this is one of my favourite blues.

It's quite amazing - part of my brain thinks the photo must have been manipulated for such a monochromatic effect.
