walklog:

7-23 woodlands between tiesu and holden corso roads, 5.13 km, 2:27, elevation gain 709m. we set out to try and walk around the other side of holden lake from hemer park, but that wasn't the way (if there is any good way). lots of tank traps on the path out towards boat harbour (the last bit of water on the right actually is a narrow inlet -- swimming might be great there if one can get to it from the other side). that path culminates in major blockage and warnings about private property and to keep out (muchly ignored, as it appears, but we were good and walked back). just as well, since according to google maps we would have come out on a peninsula with a large estate on it.

lots and lots of thimbleberries. also, cascara (not ripe yet), climbing nightshade | european bittersweet (solanum dulcamara) -- first time i've seen that here, and a couple of as-yet-unidentified fruits
