Ooooh, Trollius. Invasive little shits. Won't grow where I want 'em, but they're doing their level best to kill off some of my daylilies.

these are probably ranunculus repens, and the ones i have in the back are ranunculus acris, but they're invasive little shits alright. though they're much easier to eradicate than bindweed (which never seems to go away).

but yeah, if you actually want to keep them in a certain area i guess you have to treat them like mint and either put them in a container, or build an underground barrier.

hope your throat feels better!

Wow! A capital letter from the fishie! Doctor P has been honored!

Also, another beautiful picture. They all are, but I suspect you'd get tired of me saying so every day.

hdr? i'm probably dense tonight and will realize what you're asking right after storing this question, *heh*, but i am missing the context.

high dynamic range imaging. often abbreviated these days as just hdr. there are some incredible pictures out there on the web -- a good start is just to type hdr into flickr's search box. it's the color intensity that made me wonder.

ah, i was wondering (i know it as HDRI). no, this picture isn't. but i sometimes fake HDRI when i have a very contrasty image that was exposed for the brighter areas; i'll brighten the darker areas in photoshop to bring out more details.
