(yesterday)

walklog:

6-01 chase river estuary, 1.61 km, 0:42.

i'm in one of my 100% antisocial moods; i don't feel well, and want to nest in my room all day and all night, appearing but once for a meal (and if i could avoid that too, i would). i don't read my flist most days, nor my email, and i don't chat on IM (*pets the *poing* who is the best*).

which makes it hard to keep up with the daily pictures. which is why i didn't. yesterday i managed to drag myself out for a walk with the paramour at least. who talked about work, which was just fine because that meant i didn't have to say anything much. *wry grin*.

interacting is really hard, and i don't want to think about being this antisocial, so please no comments about sympathy. comments about the pictures are always welcome. i'll try to keep up with them. thanks.

Oh, man. I am stunned by the color of those flowers. Colors, actually.

Oh, I could swim in those flowers and learn to breathe gold!

This light is a fine one, softness and depth, neither sun-hard or cloudy-flat.

That would make a fiendishly hard jigsaw puzzle!

OMG, it would. i have an all-red jigsaw puzzle though the pattern isn't as self-similar as this one, and that was hard enough to do. i wonder whether i could even do this.

hm. now to check who does jigsaw puzzles from one's own pictures... thanks for the idea!

I *love* having your pictures show up on my friends page every day or so. It's so nice to have something purely visual to absorb for a bit. I get so caught up in words and numbers and analytical stuff, that just looking without thinking has become a wonderful way of resting the brain for a minute.

I think I need to get back into artwork. Knitting is ok, but I'm still thinking too much. Drawing would be good.

Thanks for all the gorgeous photos. You mention that your camera isn't anything special, but they seem to have plenty of detail, depth, color, etc. Perhaps my camera would serve me as well - or is it the photographer?

my camera (nikon coolpix 4500) isn't a pro camera, but it's not a throwaway point-and-shoot either, so much of the quality is due to its decent optics -- the macro shots still amaze me; it is very good at those. the composition is mine, though -- but much of that is practice, and learning from taking lots of pictures that don't work. taking the camera with me everywhere i go and just taking pictures has changed my eye to see a lot more possible pictures, more possible interest, especially on paths that i walk a lot. there is always something new that i didn't see before.

*nod* -- knitting doesn't distract me too much unless the pattern is complicated, and then it requires more fiddlywork than i like, so it doesn't hit the right-brain spot that some other craft/art does for me. though photography doesn't hit that either, not unless i use the picture as a base for digital painting.

glad you like my photos!

Do you realize it's June and you've posted pictures nearly every day since the beginning of the year? A few of them are nice, cheering things to have on my friends page, but many of them are just breathtaking. Thank you so much for this project!

Well if that's the way you feel about it, I can talk about work a whole lot more than I have been. ;-)
