moss and lichen forest

growing on the bigleaf maple out front. the fingery ends of the lichen remind me of the waves in old japanese woodprints, like the great wave of kanagawa by hokusai.

Exactly. I learned to stare lovingly at plants one day beside the Waukaroosha River in an, um, altered state of consciousness. It was the mosses and lichens that taught me so much.
