on 2008-01-17 12:17 (UTC)I have a cat myself but it usually only warms the radiator in my room sleeping on it for most of day and night,i doesn’t seam to be much interested in doing anything else.Do you maybe live on a farm,i see you have a lot of animals and you seam surrounded by scenery also your neighbours decoration led’s me to think you live somewhere in the nature and peace.
It looks like a good place to be,i wish you all the best and please keep taking pictures.

on 2008-01-18 10:01 (UTC)yeah, bacchus is a big, chubby cat, and persis is very tiny. we have 4 others whom you'll see pictures of sooner or later -- they all sleep a lot. we don't live on a farm, but we live in an area far enough from town for there to still be farms around here. in europe this would be a small village, but here it's just a loose accumulations of houses on large lots, not even all in easy walking distance, with no stores, and everyone drives everywhere and does all shopping in town. a very north american thing, it's what i call semi-rural ("rural" means farmland, but here not everyone farms, most people drive to their jobs in town).
and because it's semi-rural and there's still quite a bit of forest around and pastures, there are a lot of animals -- not just people's dogs and cats who run free, but also geese and chickens and peacocks, and deer wander through the yard. and there are ravens in the tall trees between us and the neighbouring property, and we see a lot of bald eagles (the river is close, which is a salmon run, so the eagles come to feast at certain times a year).

on 2008-01-18 11:54 (UTC)Oh my grandma was in the hospital for a while and we all thought she was a goner but luckuly she is stable now and feeling much better.
I had a strong cold and here since we are Orthodox we celebrated Xmas and New Years later [the 7th and the 13th].
I know what rural means but it was very thoughtful of you to explain in case i didn't.
Around my town we have 30+ villages ranging from 400 to 200 ppl,but they do have a shop or 2 and a few pubs.
I fell that you live in a lovely place,i figured there are more animals then just cats and dogs but i have a week spot for cat's.
Today you posted the pearl thingy it was so unusual i never seen anything like it.I also like the nature pic's you take but mostly i enjoy pic's of animals.Your chubby cat makes me envious.Do you need a lot of time to get to the shops? Here our villages are about 13 km to 30 km away from the town.We don't have remote places of random houses but it sounds like a good place to retire too.I like silence and nature so i imagine it as a wonderful way of live.
