Awesome, just awesome. I love the sea when it's angry. I want to taste the salt and feel the wind tearing at me, and see and feel the waves crashing at the shore.

This image brings back lots of good memories. Thanks!

Wow. Just looking at that I want to be standing on those rocks. That's some beautiful seascape.

Not that I'd encourage you to do this, but it looks like the sort of thing you could blow up to 36x24 and make into a motivational poster with a caption like "Some fear the tempest. Some crave it."

Or if that's too high-brow for you, Photoshop a cat on top of the the picture and print DO NOT WANT BATH!!! in big letters across the top.

*laugh*. oh, i like it! i've gotta try to see how large i can blow this up; i don't take pics at terrifically high resolution since i only have a 3MP camera. if it works, i'll send you one (if you want).

That's an astoundingly wonderful shot. I used to go to the ocean during hurricanes - I remember Gloris in particular. Gorgeous stuff.

hey there! i'd been wondering what was up with you. oh, olive oil picking -- that sounds like hard work. i've never done that or even seen olive oil being made, since i've always lived in northern climates. but i like olive oil.

you should write some about it! i friended you since i saw you actually started posting. :)

Well, I'll say only this...
every year I'm participating on this process, I praise the good Lord and my parents for helping me to get in the university and blessed me with an office job!!!
Hehe, ok I admit I'm a little whiny here since I'm not big fan of manual work, so I'm not the most qualified person to answer your question...
I guess it's as hard as other farming practices...
Thankfully there are technology and machines which help a lot, but still there is need for muscle...

Hmmm, on the other hand I'd be a liar if I say I don't enjoy it at all. I love nature, and where I'm coming from this process is like a ritual which repeats every year, with relatives and friends. Also, in the end the fulfillment of achieving to provide your home with good quality oil is priceless...
Hehe, we take our oil seriously, it's an honor thing!!!
I'm still playfully bickering with my friend (he's from another area) on whose town produces best quality oil...Image

Good for you that you are fond of olive oil, it's healthier than other fat and oils and protects the heart from diseases, also it's even better if you prefer the virgin one from the refined.

thanks for explaining -- that all makes a lot of sense. i don't think i would like back-breaking manual labour as my regular job; i am too wimpy and like my comfort. but i do like some forms of manual work, especially when it creates something, when i can stand there later, all tired out, and point at something and say "i made that". especially when it is useful.

oh yeah, we buy only virgin olive oil. mmh, the smell alone, so good. the one we usually buy comes from italy; i shall look for greek olive oil on my next shopping trip.
