just a couple of days ago i pulled pictures off my digicam (the joy of having lots of memory is that i no longer need to do that every time i come back from a "shoot"). as it turns out, i was a total wiener about taking pictures in 2007 -- over previous years i had managed to shoot 3000+ images a year, but this whole year: 453. pitiful. depressing. well, depressed, really -- it shows itself the most in things like that, how little i have done of things i really love doing.

anyway, this shouldn't continue. so i am telling myself to post one picture a day for the foreseeable future. it needn't be anything special, i am not imposing quality rules on myself because i know that'd stop me from doing it really soon. it needn't even be a picture i took that day, though i am going to try for that so as to get myself out and about, taking the camera with me at all times again, and looking at the world with an eye towards something interesting.

BC ferries shows a sense of humour (and something of a disdain for transport canada) at the ticket booth.

Great photo!

Back here, the transport security silliness continues apace. (news.com.au/story/0,25197,22991430-26103,00.html)

ah, if only i didn't totally suck at landscape photography. i've got an eye for texture, and small stuff, but my landscape photos look boring, not at all representative of the splendour around me. so i don't know that much of the beauty of my surroundings will come across in any of those daily photos.

(i know some things about how i could improve the suckiness, but they require planning. and we all know how i do with that.)

Thank you for this. It's quite amusing, and I always enjoy situations where sign makers manage to convey in that small space that they really do have a great command of the language.

That's great! I look forward to your pictures--I'm trying to get back into photos, as well, but I've got more technical stuff to learn before I attempt to post any.
