I've seen stuff online from Dell to Toshiba costing between $350 - $700, but in Lebanon they would cost double, especially laptops that tend to start at $1000 regardless of the brand. I have seen prices drop a little bit recently on billboards, but that could be the price without VAT - a sneaky marketing tactic to get you to go to the shop.
