giving out invite codes is such total FUN!

i can haz invite codes!

i never win anything. i don't even bother to buy raffle or lottery tickets because never in my life have i won anything. ok, once, during tim hortons' "rrroll up the rim", i won a free coffee. that's it.

but dreamwidth is making me a winner! first i won an invite code for myself on twitter, and now i won a set of invite codes because i was faster than a speeding bullet on IRC. woohoo!

i decided to let randomness rule for picking people from my list, and the first people have gotten their invites.

i can also guarantee everyone on the list an invite to the open beta, so don't worry if randomness doesn't favour you in the next 3 weeks; as of april 30 you will have an invite.

i am getting such a kick out of inviting people!

ETA: this is the post to get added to my list for invite codes. if we know each other, that is -- from here or anywhere else. i cannot guarantee codes for everyone who finds this post via google.

the daily dreamwidth:

DW has retooled the "adult concepts" warning system and self-identification. they're removing the ability for people to flag other people's posts and comments for age-appropriateness review, but they are keeping the ability for people to self-restrict their content if they want to. "adult concepts" and "graphic adult material" have been renamed "14+" and "18+" (since that's how they function in the code) so that there's no doubt about what they are and what they do. there won't be any penalty for failing to use these features, but this way people who want to use them will be absolutely certain about what they restrict.

theyr'e also allowing users to describe why they chose the particular adult-content setting they chose, so you can (for instance) say "NSFW for image of naked boobies" or "18+ for violent content", etc. this works for both individual entries and for your whole journal, so if you set your entire journal to 18+, you can make the click-through say "this journal contains frequent nude images", or whatever else you want.
