piranhawe took another longish walk today -- all the way down thatcher road, and then on the wood path past the swimming hole, almost to the highway bridge. i wanted to show the swimming hole to the *poing*. lots of water coming down from the mountains; there is still snow on top of mt benson. on our way back we saw a barred owl, which was way cool -- it was sitting about 20-25 ft away, on a low branch of a tree, and it didn't seem at all bothered by us, so we watched it for quite a while.
the *poing* has undergone a transformation from sessile computer plant into an activity hound, and un^H^Hfortunately the weather has been sunny, offering the first tshirt days, so we've been out every day. at this rate i'll be buff in ... no, wait, the *poing* is leaving on saturday, and i can sink right back into sloth! or maybe not. i still have notions of building that bed.
