left: timid looks forward, vincent sneaks up. middle: timid looks backward, vincent lays down and looks innocent. right: timid looks forward again, but her whole body says *don't you dare*, vincent stays put

clicking on the image gets you a larger version.

i got lots done today; good day. real artist acrylics are beautiful; so saturated. i've never worked with such lovely paints before.

vincent is deigning to let me pet him again; apparently i am finally forgiven for the flea treatment. little does he know what is yet to come. *sigh*. i wish we could communicate better with animals.

though i guess "we're gonna have the vet pull all your teeth and chop off your balls" wouldn't go over real well in any case.

I pass along some words of wisdom our vet tech gave us when we pulled Brandy's teeth: if the cat won't put up with having liquid food squirted down his throat (Brandy wouldn't), one can feed the cat by going to the grocery store and buying a few jars of Gerber baby food. (It has to be Gerber, not Beechnut. Apparently cats won't eat the Beechnut.)

Brandy wouldn't put up with the liquid food, and refuses to eat wet food, but the baby food was a grand treat. And as soon as his mouth healed up, he was right back to eating the kibble -- he bolts it whole, instead of chewing it -- although we did have to switch to a smaller-bore kibble, because he couldn't stop himself from taking such big gulps and half-gummed kibble would spew out of his mouth all over the floor. *G*

...no, probably not. It took one of my cats about two years to forgive me for getting her reproductive bits removed (although the number of times we moved probably didn't help). She's probably going to end up without many teeth eventually, poor girl.

Actually, I'm not sure I want to know what my cats are telling me some of the time.

that picture reminds me of how funny it is to look outside and see all four (we have two indoor with outdoor privileges and two fully outdoor) cats positioned at various points on the lawn, each keeping an eye on the other. Kitty cold war.
