wonderful -- especially the tree bark, and the bees. reminds me of some of karl blossfeldt's stuff -- do you know his work? (http://www.soulcatcherstudio.com/exhibitions/blossfeldt/) and how did you get that bees picture?? do you own a window-hive?

It's ripples on a stream over a sunlit streambed.
It's eroded wood grain.
It's stream-ripples shaped by magic like wood grain.

no, i am completely ignorant when it comes to great photography, with the exception of a few enormously famous people, such as ansel adams. (oh wow, blossfeldt rocks, uh rocked.)

the bees are at science world in vancouver. i wish i had had access to hands-on museums like that when i was a kid. their hive is inside, next to an outside wall, and the bees can go in and out. apparently they're not bothered by the light.

sweet beehive. i love that kind of thing, too. i am also pretty ignorant about photography, to tell the truth -- in fact, i just learned about blossfeldt two days ago, from someone next to me in studio -- she had a taschen book of his stuff out on her desk. it just struck me when i saw your pictures that they reminded me of the texture-y blossfeldts i saw in that book.

(and i *really* need to learn how to work a camera, myself. i barely know which button to press on my digital machine, which is sort of pathetic. if you were in cambridge, i'd beg you to come use your mad skillz to take photos of my models for me... :-)
