i'm glad we weren't sitting there. not like we would have been even if we had come earlier; i hate sitting near the highway with the exhausts pouring towards me at nose level. i wonder whether human reaction time would have been enough to throw oneself to the side if anyone had been sitting there watching the accident that catapulted this car off the highway and down into the narrow gap between the building and the retaining wall.

(we weren't there to see it happen; we stopped to pick up subs when the fire guys were cleaning up.)
