why hello, little guy

04-25 morrell nature sanctuary 4.81 km 2:35 -- after heading in the opposite direction from a bunch of noisy kids i didn't meet a soul, and it was wonderful. lots of yellow violets. on the way out i walked mainly an unmarked side path taking off from the end circle of maple trail, which turns out to fork at the end and the right fork connects probably to westwood lake -- that'll be a nice, long loop some time. i took the left fork because i had forgotten how late the gate was open and didn't want to get locked in (0700-2100). that fork led down to alder trail at the intersection with the connector to morrell lake trail.

this little squirrel was running out one hole and in the next until he caught sight of me, and then he stared at me for a long time before deciding to hide inside the tree.

So of course I thought of the old a.p. thing about squirrels. He's very cute.
