native to BC, very common around here. smells like a soapy rose; sharp. the rosehips taste very nice and make great tea.

one of the many totems in duncan, BC, which calls itself "city of totems" -- i think there are around 80 of them in town. carved in 1990 by harold alfred, who is a member of the 'namgis first nation.
