i'll have to work on making those photos look more like my reality -- this looks perfectly harmless, what's a little 45° incline? but man, does it ever look scary when going downhill, for 10 or more of those switchbacks, the trail too narrow in most places for two people to pass each other, and also, wet and slippery more often than not. or maybe it just looks that scary for people like me who're a little phobic of falling (not of heights, just of falling. sometimes i will sit down on my butt and scoot down paths that the paramour walks on easily, just because that leaves me less scared).
