fall salmon run

the paramour wrote about yesterday's outing. so i put up some pictures. the pictures are mostly not up to my usual "show them to others" standards, but i think i am at the limit of what my camera (and lack of patience to build a blind and lurk for hours for just the perfect shots) can do with underwater salmon, and the rest of them belong to that walk, so there you are.

hitbox

i was gonna write a PSA post about the hitbox situation, but desh has already done a better job than i would have, so i am just linking you there.

for those of you to whom "hitbox" means nothing, LJ had started to use the company (which has a questionable reputation) for stats collection, and there is a question about precisely what stats are being collected, and how protected that leaves people's private or flocked entries, since we're not just talking about cookies, but also about obfuscated javascript.
