the washington note has an uber-insider rumour: there'll be 1-5 indictments handed down tomorrow; the source feels it'll be towards the higher end. the targets of the indictments have already received their letters. the indictments will be sealed. the rumour is supported by a report from CBS news that also talks about tomorrow being the day for indictments.

if the indictments are really sealed it means we might not actually find out who's been indicted until it either leaks, or arrests are made. which there might, or might not be. one reason for sealing an indictment is that there is some cooperative dealmaking going on, and if the deal goes through, the indictment will be dismissed, and we might never know. an alternative reason for sealing might be that fitzgerald wants to empanel another grand jury because he's not done investigating, and this is all he can get at this time.

i am trying not to get my hopes up. [edit: which is a good thing. no indictments today (wednesday, says the AP.]

i actually left the house and mingled with human civilisation in meatspace, something which i've tried to avoid after having been sick twice in the last two months due to up-close mingling. i am much healthier when hermitting. :)

went to the bank. told the teller that i was depositing a US checque, but apparently she was tuned to the voices in her head, and deposited it in canadian funds. luckily i caught it. then she deposited several million dollars instead. i said that it was premature, though i was planning to buy a lottery ticket.

which i then did, after the third attempt to put that checque into the account was charmed. the 649 jackpot is the highest ever in canada, C$40 million. so, i had to. i've never before bought a 649 ticket. the odds are something like one in 14 million -- i am not holding my breath.

did a little grocery shopping; nothing major, just milk, eggs, fresh sourdough bread, delicata squash (i love delicata -- there's some now accidentally growing on my compost pile, but alas it started too late to actually bear any).

stopped by michaels to get some matte acrylic gel, since i am working on a collage and ran out. and that was that. tired out by exposure to other human beings, i rushed back home to cuddle up with the catlings. completely forgot that i was gonna get hardware for shelving, *grump*.

it's been a good week -- the weather cleared up long enough for me to cut down wilting foliage, and to clean up the garden sections for the winter. i got some cheap pansies to plant -- they are hardy here, and usually don't stop blooming. i harvested all the green tomatoes off the "golden boy" plant and used the recipe geekchick pointed me at, combined with the longer salting period pperiwinkle suggested -- the outcome was not vile, but also not something i'd like to eat again; rather too acidic. if there are enough green roma left i might try the mock mince pie filling next, or a chutney.

the paramour comes back on saturday. about time.
