low and slow

across america: josh caldwell rode a segway from seattle to boston in a little over three months.

as one of the remaining 6 geeks who're still interested in segway, i think that's just way cool. i still want one, and now that i've seen the new rough-terrain segway XT i'm all aflutter with lust. only U$5000, *sigh*. so i'll get one if we win the lottery.

woowoo! this is the only reality-type show i get regularly hooked on.

though, i swear, it's starting to strike me as weird that i can categorize most of the teams right off the bat now:

the brothers (brian & greg)
the barbie look-alikes (megan and heidi)
the token black couple (uchenna & grace)
the gay couple (lynn and alex)
the retired couple (meredith & gretchen)
the fat team (ryan & chuck, apparent hillbillies)
the dating couple who has pre-existing troubles (ray and deana)
parent and son (susan and patrick)
the couple where at least one had something tragic happen to them (ron & kelly -- he was a POW)
the all-american dating couple (rob & amber, though these break the normal rule; they were both on survivor)
the suburban moms (debbie & bianca; ok, i might be wrong about them, they seem a little young :)

amusing. and off they are to lima, peru. woowoo!

i actually don't like seeing the survivor people on here. what is this, reality tv becoming a job for some people, so we need to see them recycled everywhere? no, thanks.
