Looks like a blanket. (Or rice. But way less likely.)

it does look like fabric, doesn't it. but it's not. completely not.

also not rice, though that's actually closer.

I'm going to guess angelfood cake on extreme closeup.

no, but now i want to get some angelfood cake. :)

it is a food, though. of sorts. not in and of itself, but used in food.

[identity profile] tiger-spot.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess some kind of fabric.

[identity profile] pir-anha.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
nope, though it does look that way to me as well.

no. though it is food. kinda. used to make food.

high-tech dishrag

that's clearly what it should be. alas...

Actually, it looks like an electron micrograph to me. So, way, way, way close up. But I don't imagine you'd be using one of those machines.

Seitan? But I wouldn't imagine that would be white.
I don't think it's the cut surface of a potato.

It reminds me of oatmeal, too, but I'm sure it's not. Quinoa? That doesn't seem right, either.

nope, that would be cheating. just my camera's macro setting. nope, neither seitan nor potato. but food-related!

[identity profile] beaq.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
It looks like some kind of sea animal tissue, or very clean intestinal mucosa.

My guess is "pre-rennet"
ext_481: origami crane (Default)

pre-rennet

[identity profile] pir-anha.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
it isn't, but i am wondering what "pre"-rennet is, since rennet is an enzyme complex, or rather, a set of different ones depending on whether we're talking animal, vegetable, fungus, microbial. stomach lining sorta kinda looks like this IIRC.

the guesses are making me want to take pictures of all of these things. :)

[identity profile] lynn-massa.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, stomach lining was my guess. not exactly food, but used to make food.

it does look like that, the latter especially. but it isn't.

Parts of it look like Penrose tiling if I squint.

Tofu :-)

Did you ever reveal what this is? I remembered this today, and scrolled back until I found it because I could not get it out of my mind. It is like a mind-worm of ramen noodles bugging the heck out of me.
