speedy tide


neck point. the top picture is from the "head" looking back over the neck to the shore. bottom picture is from the high point of the path one can see in the top picture, looking down onto neck point. elapsed time: 5 minutes. see how quickly the tide is covering the neck? when the tide is all the way in the head is an island.

Wow. That's right now? With the moon just past quarter phase? I bet it's even more dramatic in about a week with spring tides.

that was on a day where the tidal difference was 3.8m. spring tide is about 5.2m. today is 2.8m.

Thanks. 5.2 meters is quite a tide. Not as bad as Fundy Bay, but certainly nothing to fool around with.
