dragonfly

unfortunately overexposed, but that's the best dragonfly shot i've got yet. they sure don't sit still for long on hot days like today.

walklog:

7-20 hemerglobin park, the trail that comes out in the old orchard above the entrance. 2.86 km, 1:25, elevation gain 452m. there is a crossroute shortly before this trail ends up in the field, which i want to take to the left and see where it goes. lots of duckweed in the smaller lakes. also indian pipe in several small groupings.

newly ripe berries: huckleberries and saskatoon berries. also black cherries on abandoned old orchard trees. nomnomnom.

new blooms: hardhack, fireweed, bullrush, various thistles, water hemlock (not so nomnomnom).

I love your photos! I didn't even think of this one as overexposed, since that gives a kind of glow that I thought of as deliberate.

Ooo, blue dasher! That's what they generally look like to me, in the sun. I guess nature doesn't get it about exposure, eh?

OOoooo! The detail on the wings and the grass is amazing.
