2272x1704; that's the max my camera can do. not high res enough for a poster, i think, though maybe it doesn't matter; image sharpness isn't really that important here. i should try and blow it up to see how large i can make it.
Pleo? Can I ask you a question? Is this picture taken by you? Because it's an amazing site, looks like it's taken out from some fantasy world and it wakes up some jealousy emotions inside me of where you live!
If you answered yes to the previous question please answer me this too...
Is it for real or did you process it to make it look so dark?
yes, all these pictures are taken by me (if they're not, i mention it). and it's not post-processed, but i adjusted the camera on purpose so the light was this luminous and the trees this dark. in reality it wasn't quite this dark in the forest; i could distinguish the trees -- but also, in reality, i felt the sort of thing you and some others are feeling when looking at the image, so who is to say which reality is more true...
i do live in a place with a lot of natural beauty. we have creeks and a river and ocean and high mountains and lush meadows and deep forests, all right around where we live. this picture is taken in a tiny bit of forest left in between farms; you can cross it in 2 minutes. i walk past it every day when i go to the mailbox, and when the sun is in the right place, and i step into it for a few paces, it looks like this. i think most people never notice. but it's the sort of thing i look for.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep...
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
