totally agree. and here the apples look like they're cascading down from the sky, or floating in midair among the branches -- the contrast in tone is so enormous from the wintry leafless tree.
thank you! i have gotten a lot better since i got the digicam because i can now shoot shoot shoot, without worrying how expensive it is to develop film. not only can i shoot at different exposures if i am not sure what will work best, but it also helps to have 5 different shots of the same scene from slightly different angles because then i can pick the best later when i finally see them full-size, or crop the most interesting bits. all that practice has improved my overall composition a lot, i now often see good pictures of random little stuffthat i wouldn't have noticed some years ago, before i even look through the viewfinder.
