walklog:

07-10 carrington ravine and walley creek trail, 4.85 km, 2:02, 474m elevation gain. showed the paramour two of the shortish trails i'd discovered since i've been walking in every park in nanaimo. saw at least 10 deer, among them this nice buck -- unfortunately blurry because it was taken from the running truck in low light when we were on our way back home -- came around the curve and there he was, with entourage.

newly blooming: selfheal, cooley's hedgenettle, oceanspray, birds-foot trefoil. salmonberries and thimbleberries are ripe!

sore throat in its end stage; never became anything worse.

he wasn't bouncing; they're all incredibly unfazed by people in that area. i guess one normally doesn't see the backside of deer feet because they stand in much higher grass.

i've got to head to that neighbourhood with a tripod some time.
