It would have been interesting to see. I lost a lot of respect for Bob Dole during his presidential campaign, since he not only had to take a jump to the right but he looked so uncomfortable doing it that he probably wound up alienating everyone.

I guess being a popular senator with a safe seat and a free lifetime pass to the pulpit is good enough for thoughtful people like McCain or *sniff* Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
